A growing business, held together by manual work

Honey & Bliss Boards was running its customer workflow through Instagram and manual coordination. The owner was the connection between each step: answering inquiries, collecting order details, communicating with customers, and keeping track of what needed to happen next.

That approach put administrative work between customer interest and a confirmed order. As the business developed, it needed a professional online experience backed by a practical system for managing the work behind it.

Finding the bottleneck

The constraint was the amount of coordination each sale required. Standard board orders and custom grazing-table events followed different paths, but both depended on the owner gathering information and moving the process forward.

The solution needed to reflect those differences, connect the steps, and account for the business's actual availability and capacity.

What I built

I designed and developed a bespoke website with integrated ordering and a custom administrative platform. Customers can browse products, select options, choose available dates, and pay online. Custom event inquiries follow a separate intake and booking workflow, with support for deposits, balance payments, and customer communications.

Behind the website, the owner has tools to manage orders, event bookings, customer records, products, availability, and financial information. The system brings the customer-facing experience and the operational work into the same platform.

  • Online ordering and payments

Product-specific ordering flows and Stripe checkout, with payment events connected to order records.

  • Custom event workflows

Structured grazing-table inquiries, booking management, payment links, deposits, and balance payments.

  • Availability controls

Lead times, capacity settings, blocked dates, and scheduling tools that help align orders with what the business can fulfill.

  • Automated communications

Customer emails and Pushover notifications for incoming leads and orders, reducing the need to continually check for activity.

  • Business email

Gmail configured with the business's own domain for branded customer communication.

  • Customer and marketing tools

A central customer view, reusable email templates, and a custom bulk email tool with personalization and unsubscribe handling.

  • Owner administration

Controls for products, seasonal promotions, content, orders, and bookings, so routine changes can happen through the application.

Built for the owner to manage

The owner can change availability, capacity, blocked dates, products, seasonal promotions, website content, and email templates through the administrative interface. These settings and content are stored in the database, so supported updates take effect without editing code or redeploying the website.

That independence is part of the solution's value. When the business needs to block a busy weekend, adjust its order capacity, or refresh a promotion, the owner can make the change directly. The platform gives the business practical control over its daily operations as its needs change.

What changed

The business moved from an Instagram-based manual workflow to a connected system for ordering, payments, communication, and administration.

Customers gained a direct path to place an order or submit a detailed event inquiry. The owner gained structured records, automated notifications, reusable communications, and a central place to manage upcoming work. Availability rules became part of the ordering process, and customer information became useful beyond a single conversation.

The result is a bespoke digital foundation that supports both the brand customers see and the work required to deliver on it. Routine operational and content changes are in the owner's hands, reducing dependence on ongoing developer support.

My contribution

I translated the business's workflows into the website, application, data model, and integrations. My work covered the customer experience, administrative tools, ordering and payment flows, domain email setup, notifications, and email automation.
